Our Core Belief

God: We believe that God is three persons in one, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. We believe God is eternal, and has no beginning and no end. We believe God is all powerful, all wise, all knowing, omniscient, omnipresent, and sovereign over all creation, and over all circumstances. We believe in the deity of Jesus and the Holy Spirit and both are also eternal, holy, perfect and self-existing.

We believe God loves us so much that He planned before creation, for His Son Jesus to dwell among us, born of a virgin and without sin. Jesus was sent to teach us about the Father, die for our sins, be buried, and be resurrected on the third day, so that those who believe in this would be forgiven of their sins and be reconciled to the Father. We believe that the wages of sin is death, and that Jesus was obedient to death and was the sacrificial lamb who took God’s punishment on our behalf. We believe that those who receive this knowledge and understanding by the power of the Holy Spirit, and believe it, will be given the right to be called the children of God. We believe Jesus ascended into heaven, intercedes on behalf of His chosen and will return to judge the living and the dead.

We believe those who receive the gift of salvation and make Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior, will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will indwell followers of Christ, helping each follower demonstrate wisdom, discernment, strength, power, self control, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, joy, love and goodness. The Holy Spirit also convicts each follower of their sins, leading them to confession, repentance, transformation and sanctification. The Holy Spirit gives different gifts to each follower to be used for God’s purposes for the Kingdom of God and His people. We believe that there are false prophets and all spirits should be tested by Scripture.

We believe that the Bible is God-breathed, inspired by God and comprises sixty six books including both the Old and New Testament. We believe the Bible is the sovereign authority over LMNC teaching, activities and studies, all life and faith practices, patterns of the Christian culture and the hearts and homes of every family represented at LMNC.

Holy Spirit: We believe in transformation through the leading and the power of the Holy Spirit both individually and as we come together to worship and learn about God. The Holy Spirit empowers us to worship God in Spirit and in Truth. The Holy Spirit convicts us of our sins, gives us strength, wisdom, discernment and the power to overcome the sin in our lives. The Holy Spirit indwells each person who puts all their hope, trust and faith in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. Each follower of Christ receives different gifts of the Spirit. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Freedom. We will depend on the Holy Spirit when we pray, worship, study scripture and share the Gospel. We will embrace each follower’s gifts of the Spirit to contribute to the Body of Christ at LMNC.

Scripture: We will share the Gospel and the teachings and commands of Jesus, read and study the Bible. Our hope is that each person would not just learn about God and His will for us by coming to a church service, but would also be intentional in reading the Bible for themselves, seeking to understand and apply God’s Word in their daily lives. Our hope is that reading scripture would be a priority for LMNC on an individual level as well as on a corporate level. The scripture is God breathed, alive and The Lord speaks differently to each person through His Word for us. Our hope is that as we read His Word, we would reflect, understand and communicate to our Creator through prayer, reflection, journaling and meditation on His Word. We believe Scripture will help us live transformed lives by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer - Quiet Time: Our hope is for real transformation that changes every part of our lives, and to surrender our will and desires, so that God’s will be done in our personal lives as well as in our families, church, community and beyond. Our hope is that we will taste and see that God is good, and understand that nothing in this world can satisfy like He does. Our burden is that not one would perish, but all will come to salvation through the belief of the life, work, death and resurrection of Jesus. We hope and pray the Lord will bring repentance and the healing of sins and its damage to lives, families, relationships and nations. We pray for revival and a desire for Jesus and His power to transform lives and hearts, starting with us. We believe this is possible through the power of the Holy Spirit as we seek to spend quiet time with God in prayer and in His Word. We believe that significant time with the God of the Universe in prayer and communication both individually and corporately will help us draw closer to Him, know Him better and hear His call on our lives more clearly. We believe as we draw closer to God, He will reveal to us His will for our lives specifically in all the areas of our lives we need to surrender to Him. We believe Jesus has come to give us life to the full and this life is found in Him alone. In Him we have hope, love, joy, and peace that the world cannot give. We hope this abounding joy will catapult us individually and corporately to share the Good News of the Gospel with all those around us who desperately need hope.
